We recently sat down with Dan Moeller, Director of Data at Command Direct. As a valued team member since 2015, Dan has been a critical part of ensuring client requests are handled effectively and efficiently. Take a moment to get to know Dan!
What do you do at Command Direct, and what’s your favorite part of the job?

I collaborate with our team to understand client project needs, review their data, and ensure we have the right materials to deliver accurate, efficient results. This includes assessing print, mail, and design elements. Even when clients provide their own designs, we review them to ensure visual and functional quality. I support account managers from project kickoff through completion, helping streamline workflows and troubleshoot issues. I take pride in finding better, more efficient ways to work—and I truly value being heard and appreciated, especially within our data team.
What’s one professional value or principle you live by?
I believe in treating everyone with respect and being helpful wherever I can. Being a good teammate means showing up for others and recognizing that every role contributes to the bigger picture.
What’s a project or accomplishment you’re most proud of so far?
I'm most proud of building a strong, collaborative team. We've been through changes but now we have a group that works well together and enjoys what we do. It makes coming to work something I genuinely look forward to.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
While earning my AAS in Computer Information Systems, I was in a desktop publishing class that became a creative outlet. That led to a job at Kinko’s and eventually inspired me to pursue a marketing degree. A marketing internship in the music industry—combining my design skills and love of music—launched a decade-long career, where I worked my way up managing a marketing program that promoted new artists.
Why do you love working at Command Direct?
Before joining Command, I came from a large company and wasn’t sure what to expect. But here, you're valued for who you are—not just your role. Gary and Dave lead with kindness, hard work, and genuine care, creating a respectful, family-like environment where people want to do their best for each other. That sense of connection is what I love most about working here.
